Burnt Mastic Kit – Burnt Sand & Linseed Oil

This Trowel Grade Pointing Mastic Kit combines traditional burnt mastic sand with raw linseed oil to create a durable, flexible sealant that’s been trusted for over 200 years. Commonly used for pointing joints between timber window and door frames, it’s ideal for restoration and conservation work where authenticity and performance are key.

The mix slowly hardens over time while remaining flexible enough to accommodate movement, making it long-lasting and weather-resistant. It also offers excellent adhesion, ensuring a secure bond to timber and masonry surfaces.

To prepare, simply add linseed oil gradually and mix by hand or trowel until the mastic forms a thick, putty-like consistency.
